Country Gift & Thrift Shoppe

The shop hosts regular quilting bees where local Amish and Mennonite ladies stitch new quilts that are then sold here. Because the quilts are made on-site by hand, each is its own item rather than a repeated stock product, so what is available depends on what has recently been finished. If you are shopping for a specific size or pattern, it is worth checking in more than once rather than assuming a particular quilt will still be there on a later visit.

Alongside the quilts, the store carries second-hand goods. As with most thrift inventory, the selection turns over as items come in and sell, so it varies from one visit to the next. The proceeds, like those from the quilts, support MCC, which means buying here functions as a donation as much as a purchase.

Payment is cash. There is no card reader noted, so plan to bring enough on hand for anything you intend to buy, including a quilt, which can run higher than a typical thrift item. Hours are not posted here, so call ahead before driving out if you are coming any distance.
